PARISH COUNCILS
Parish Council
Presided by the pastor, a consultative group of lay ministry leaders
and an elected parish members that meet bi-monthly to foster
pastoral activities and issues concerning the faith life of the
parish.
Finance Council
Presided by the pastor, and appointed advisory group of lay parish
members who meet quarterly to assist the pastor in his duties in
administering the temporal goods of the parish.
Stewardship Committee
Presided by the pastor with lay parish members who meet monthly
September to May to foster implementation of the National Conference
of Catholic Bishop’s Pastoral Letter on Stewardship in the parish.
PRAYER
24 Hour Prayer and
Eucharistic Adoration
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
following morning Mass at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday through Friday
morning at 7:30 a.m. for quiet prayer and worship.
Prayer Network
Prays for special needs by receiving prayer
petitions from parishioners.
Marian Movement
Meets monthly to discuss and share Marian
Devotions.
Sunday/Weekday Rosary
A parishioner leads this community Rosary before
all weekend masses and after all weekday masses.
Living Family Rosary
A decade (Mystery) of the Rosary recited daily
by 20 families or individuals so that the Joyful, Luminous,
Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries are recited in their entirety
daily.
Bible Discussion & Prayer
A small group meets weekly to discuss and pray
through the Sacred Scriptures.
Men’s Bible Study
Meets in the fall and spring for study of
Sacred Scripture
LITURGY
Altar Servers
Assist priest at altar with articles and
liturgical functions.
Environment
Prepare interior and exterior of Church building
for liturgical seasons
Extraordinary Ministers of
Communion
Assist priest in distribution of Eucharist
during Holy Communion at Sunday Mass.
Gift Bearers
Bring up the bread, wine and collection during
Presentation of Gifts at Sunday Mass.
Hospitality/Greeters
Warmly welcome people at the main Church
entrance as they come to Sunday Mass.
Lectors
Proclaim the Word of God during Liturgy of the
Word at Sunday Mass.
Liturgical Music
Led by choir director to enhance music during
Sunday Mass. It consists of an organist, other musical instruments
and cantor.
Sacristan
Helps priest in preparation before Mass and
after Mass
Ushers
Assist in seating, receiving collection, handing
out bulletins, and meeting special needs during Sunday Masses.
SOCIAL CONCERNS
Altar
Society
Organization of parish women, meeting
bi-monthly, to provide food and hospitality for parish events, serve
funeral luncheons, clean the church building interior, bring gift
baskets to parish newborns and make baptismal garments.
Building
and Grounds Ministry
Meet quarterly to evaluate and maintain parish
facilities.
Cemetery
Ministry
Joint-parish bi-annual meeting to manage the
temporal needs of the Catholic cemetery.
Meals
on Wheels
Deliver meals on wheels to shut ins on a yearly
rotation schedule.
Respect Life
Ministry
Meet monthly to raise awareness and seek ways to
respond to current life issues.
Social
Concerns Ministry
Meet monthly to raise awareness and seek ways to
respond to current social issues.
Stewardship
Ministry
Meet monthly to foster implementation
Stewardship in the Parish.
Sunday Coffee & Rolls
Free coffee and rolls served in the gym after
the 9:00 am Sunday Mass.
Vocational Ministry
Meet monthly to raise awareness and seek ways to
promote the vocations of the Church.
Welcoming Ministry
Welcomes newcomers to the parish by providing a
parish information packet.

Pre-school through 6th grade and involves John Paul II Education
Committee, administration, teachers, support staff, activity helpers
and P.T.O.

Committee
Together at monthly meetings, the Pastors and
Committee members of Holy Family and Holy Spirit Parishes place
their gifts at the service of one another and the school/parish
community.
Parent Teacher Organization
Monthly meetings of parents whose children
attend parochial day school. Involves planning education, social,
and fund-raising events for the school.

Totus Tuus - Summer Religion Program
Weeklong session in June for children and
youth who have completed grades K-12.
“The
Edge” High School Youth Group (Gr. 7-12)
For the high school youth from Holy Family and
Holy Spirit Churches and meets the first Wednesday of the month for
religious, service, and/or social activities.
Faith Formation Committee
Advisory Committee comprised of Holy Family and
Holy Spirit Parish Priests and lay members that assist the Faith
Formation Directory with Religious Education Program grades 1-2 and
Adult Education
Baptismal Classes
Monthly class led by Pastoral Minister for
parents preparing for the Sacrament of Baptism for their
child/children.
Marriage Preparation Classes
Series of three monthly classes led by Pastor,
Pastoral Minister, Senior and Junior Married Couple to assist
couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage
Rite of Christian Initiation
of Adults
Weekly academic year of evening classes for
adults discerning conversion to the Catholic faith and for parish
members who wish to enrich their knowledge of their Catholic faith.
Led by the RCIA team comprised of Holy Family and Holy Spirit Parish
Priests, Faith Formation Director, and lay volunteers.
Parish Resource Library
Available at the Holy Spirit entrance and
provides religious educational material for all ages and includes
DVD’s, CD’, and books.
Adult Education Library
Books available at the Holy Spirit St.
Thomas Aquinas Conference room druing the office hours of 9:00 AM to
5:00 PM.
COMMUNICATION
Bulletin – Bulletin Board
Weekly parish bulletin and posting of upcoming
events for the parish, community, and diocese.
Office Support – Parish
mailings
Assist in helping with bulletin production,
copying, stapling, and stuffing information sent to the home of
parishioners seasonally or when needed.
